without memory, time cannot exist
There would be no beginning or end, past and memory.
All things considered, it is our perception of change that marks the passage of time.
But without memory, any change would be imperceptible.
When we see the leaves turn yellow, we say: here, it’s already autumn, how time flies.
an observation, possible, only because we remember the color of the leaves in the summer.
the trees alone, stripped of our memories
