One day, from the walls of a city, towards sunset they saw themselves on the horizon line
two people hugging each other.
“I’m a dad and a mom,” thought an innocent child.
They are two lovers, thought a man with a troubled heart.
“They are two friends who meet after many years,” thought a lonely man.
“They are two merchants who have made a good deal,” thought a man greedy for money.
“He is a father who embraces a son returning from the war”, thought a woman with a tender soul.
“She is a daughter who hugs her father on his return from a trip”, thought a man saddened by the death of a daughter.
“They are two in love,” thought a girl who dreamed of love.
They are two men fighting to the death, thought a murderer.
“Who knows why they embrace,” thought a man with a dry heart.
“How nice to see two people embracing,” thought a man of God.

“Every thought,” concluded the master, “reveals to yourself what you are.”

“Chi sono io?” Chiese un giovane ad un maestro di spiritualità.
“Te lo spiego con una piccola storia” rispose il saggio.

Un giorno, dalle mura di una città, verso il tramonto si videro sulla linea dell’orizzonte
due persone che si abbracciavano.
“Sono un papà e una mamma”, pensò una bambina innocente.
“Sono due amanti”, pensò un uomo dal cuore torbido.
“Sono due amici che s’incontrano dopo molti anni”, pensò un uomo solo.
“Sono due mercanti che hanno concluso un buon affare”, pensò un uomo avido di denaro.
“E’ un padre che abbraccia un figlio di ritorno dalla guerra”, pensò una donna dall’anima tenera.
“E’ una figlia che abbraccia il padre di ritorno da un viaggio”, pensò un uomo addolorato per la morte di una figlia.
“Sono due innamorati”, pensò una ragazza che sognava l’amore.
“Sono due uomini che lottano all’ultimo sangue”, pensò un assassino.
“Chissà perché si abbracciano”, pensò un uomo dal cuore arido.
“Che bello vedere due persone che si abbracciano”, pensò un uomo di Dio.

“Ogni pensiero”, concluse il maestro, ” rivela a te stesso quello che sei.”

Esamina di frequente i tuoi pensieri: ti possono dire molte più cose su di te di qualsiasi maestro.
